The number 443 was chartered again in Brantford, Ontario, Canada with the Reid-Murphy brotherhood during the schism in the IBEW that lasted from 1908 until 1913. The first time 443 was chartered in Montgomery, Alabama, was January 27, 1913.

The first officers of Local 443 in Montgomery, Alabama, were President, C.F. Parish; Vice-President, J.L. Watson; Recording Secretary, E. Bragdon and Financial Secretary, R. Baker. The general membership meeting was every Wednesday and the local operated with a classification of “Mixed”. After going defunct sometime in 1932, applications were made in 1933 and the local was re-chartered on August 22, 1933 with a “Mixed” classification. The new local met on the first and third Tuesdays and their new officers according to the Directory of Local Unions for the fourth quarter of 1933 were: Business Manager, N. Local 443 has continued to operate under the 1933 charter to this date representing a mixed membership of Electricians, Lineman and Electronics Maintenance Technicians.
